THE IMPORTANCE OF TIME OUTDOORS

I have found that time outdoors, especially in Nature, is essential for health and wellness. Being outside can be inspiring, grounding, healing, nourishing, energizing and so much more. Sometimes I need time away from technology, space to think or connection to something greater than myself. No matter what, I always seem to get just what I need whenever I can soak in the outdoors for a bit.

Getting outside - even for a walk in a park or around the neighborhood - is one of the simplest things one can do to improve health and wellness. More and more studies are finding measurable health benefits from time spent outdoors including:

  • improved sleep

  • better breathing

  • more motivation to exercise

  • mental restoration

  • boosted immune function

  • improved emotional well-being

For me getting outside is an essential element of healthy, active aging with grace, vitality and joy!
